Certified Forest Therapy Guide

My journey to Forest Therapy is a long one. After working as a Registered Professional Forester for close to 25 years, all across British Columbia, I settled back in my hometown to begin a career as a forestry instructor in our local community college. It didn't take long before I started to observe the difference in student energy and engagement in the classroom versus the outdoors.  I have always felt better in nature.   Now I began to see see first hand, how impactful being in the forest was to others.  As I started research and understand the complex health benefits of being in the forest, I invited my students to connect their senses to nature at the start of some lab sessions.  The consensus was that these quiet moments helped them relax and focus.

The many years I have spent working, recreating, teaching , and now practicing forest bathing, has inspired me to share the practice of Forest Therapy with others.  I am a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, trained by the wonderful leaders and mentors from the Global Institute of Forest Therapy.

Please join me in a gentle, mindful and joyful walk.
